Carnegie CC welcomes all junior players, boys and girls, of all levels and abilities. We aim to ensure all players are welcome and enjoy their sport at Carnegie. We do this by:

  • Having a strong involvement from our supporters
  • Provide equal opportunities to players
  • Emphasising the fun aspects of team sport
  • Having willing, enthusiastic and quality coaches

In addition to developing players who are new to the sport, Carnegie Cricket Club aligns with the Cricket Victoria talent pathway opportunities, starting with representative and regional level cricket for both our top talented boys and girls.

Season 2018/19 Update

Now onto details for the 2018/19 season

Cricket Australia has continued to develop modified rules for the younger players. Details can be found here.

Essentially, U12 Rookies and U11 will play on a 16 metre pitch with 7 players – Stage 1, and U12 C, D, and U13 will play on a 18 metre pitch with 9 players – Stage 2. U12 A, B, U13 A (Friday night only), and all other age groups will play traditional cricket with 11 players.

Junior Pre-season training in currently underway at Sandown Indoor Centre, 2 Brough St, Springvale North:

Under 12’s
01/09/18 Saturday 3:00pm-4:30pm
08/09/18 Saturday 3:00pm-4:30pm

Under 13, 14, 15 and Girls
01/09/18 Saturday 4:30pm-6:00pm
08/09/18 Saturday 4:30pm-6:00pm

Under 11/12

Carnegie Cricket Club will have 6 or 7 Under 12 teams in 2018/19.

Our first year players will play the U12 Rookies competition, while our second and third year players will be graded into Under 12 teams. The main aim is all about fun, enjoyment and developing game skills in a grade that matches each player’s development level.

The Rookies will play the Stage 1 modified rules, with U12 C and D playing Stage 2. U12 A, B and above will play VMCU modified rules on a shorter pitch with 11 players.

Dependant on ground allocations, Rookies will pay Sunday mornings with the other teams on Friday nights, Saturday mornings and Sunday mornings. While we try our best to accommodate all requests please try and be flexible.
For all teams here is a 1-2 hour training session held during a weeknight from 4-7PM. Games are played once a week (2.5 hours) either Friday nights, Saturday or Sunday mornings TBC.

For players who are aged 11 years old and under at 31/08/2018

Under 13/14

Carnegie Cricket Club will have 3-4 Under 13/14 teams enjoy taking on the new challenges they face in stepping up to this level. At this level, games are played over two weeks. One team will bat one week and the other will bowl and then vice versa the following week.
There is 1-2 hour training session held during a weeknight between 4-7pm with the coaching geared towards challenging the players to better their skills whilst still maintaining the fun elements of the game. Games are played once a week (2.5 hours) either Friday nights, Saturday mornings or Sundays TBC.

For players who are 13/14 or younger as at  31/08/2018

Under 15

Carnegie Cricket Club will offer an older age team in 2018/19. At this level, games are played over 2 weeks. One team will bat one week and the other will bowl and vice versa the following week. There is a 1-2 hour training session held on Tuesday nights from 5-7pm with the coaching  geared towards challenging the players to better their skills whilst maintaining the fun elements of the game. Boys and girls welcome. Games are played one a week (2.5hours) on Sunday mornings.

For players who turn 15 or younger as at  31/08/2018

All Girls Cricket Competition – 13 & Under and 16 & Under

Carnegie Cricket Club is excited to announce that we will once again be part of girls cricket for the Carnegie area and compete in the All Girls Cricket Competition (AGCC). We welcome all girls who are aged over 9 years old to come along and improve their skills, stay active and enjoy a fun summer of cricket and camaraderie playing against other all girl teams from Melbourne’s inner eastern suburbs. Matches are played Wednesday evenings, 5-7.30pm, training is once a week – night TBC.
